Please read the Potsdam Agreement which Japan had signed after its WW2 defeat.Basically it gets to keep the big island , and the rest had to return to who ever they had robbed.Thats the reason they had to withdraw from Taiwan and Phillipines and every small islandsIf Philipines doesn't recognise the Potsdam Agreement , then asked Japan to continue occupying it.
