Pavel Durov apparently knew that the gendarmes were waiting for him at the airport - at the last minute, he wanted to take the plane away and not land it in Paris. According to a report by Flightradar24, the Embraer Legacy, which was carrying the Telegram founder from Baku, suddenly changed its flight path over the French city of Reims.

French authorities and air traffic controllers may have forced the pilots to do so, another theory being that Embraer did not have enough fuel to fly out of France.
