It's no secret that Israel is not self sufficient. It requires food imports by sea and most it's oil comes from Saudi Arabia via a pipeline that transits through Jordan.

Hezbollah is not the armed wing of Lebanon like HAMAS. Israel will not and do all it takes to avoid civilian casualties but Lebanon should not let their civilians used as human shield by the Iran proxy armies based in Lebanon.

Israel has excellent Mediterranean climate and lots of good soil for agriculture, with crops and methods similar to Greece, they even make wine and export a lot of specialty kosher food and other items..They also export high tech equipment used for irrigation and desalinization and water conservation.

Believe it or not, America agriculture sector is now set up that we actually have to import food too. Of course, we can rearrange our AG sector but it would take months to years for different food items for us to be self sufficient with baseline food prices significantly higher afterwards.
