I am from a third largest democracy in the world and lucky enough to grew up in Singapore, went to college and live my early adult lives in the states and now live in Suzhou. In many ways China are already very much like singapore and more but still has a long way to become as reliable as Singapore. It will get there but not there yet. It would be the great comeback of Chinese civilization but instead HK youths and Taiwan chose to be pawns of the west.

来自世界第三大民主国家,有幸在新加坡长大,在美国上大学并度过了我成年后的早期生活,现在住在苏州｡在很多方面,中国已经非常像新加坡,甚至更像,但要成为像新加坡那样可靠的国家,还有很长的路要走｡中国会实现这一目标,但现在还没有｡这将是中华文明的伟大复兴,但香港青年和台湾却选择做西方的棋子｡

Don't worry, Hongkong'ers and Taiwanese are not stupid, they WILL NOT be canon fodder for the west. All Chinese has strong connection with each other.
