Africa was never united even before colonial occupation. Tribalism is the rule of law in Africa. Africans divide themselves even with ethnicities and races. Though I though agree that West is the reason why Africa is unstable and in perpetual war.

I think the Niger leadership made a genius move. If the US doesn't want to leave, just call the opposition, and put them close to the US troops. If the US wants to get rid of the leadership, they provoke Russian intervention. As a small power, play both superpowers to your advantage
